PLUMMER
Farside Directory - Ridge
Section 144

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
25.0_S_155.0_W
Ridge section 144 is Plummer, which is a 73 km lunar impact
crater on the Far Side of the Moon. Section 144 also contains
part of the huge walled plain, Apollo to the south. Less than
one crater diameter to the north of Plummer is the similar-sized
Wilsing. Not to be confused with the famous crater in Arizona,
the 68 km crater Barringer is located SE of Plummer near
the section's edge. Plummer is a worn crater formation with
several notable impacts along the rim. The largest of these is
the satellite crater Plummer M intruding into the southern rim.
Slightly smaller is Plummer W overlapping part of the
northwestern outer rim. There is also a relatively fresh crater
cutting across the eastern rim. The interior floor of Plummer is
marked by only a few tiny craterlets, and a central peak offset
just to the east of the midpoint. (Credit: Some of the
information used in the section feature descriptions was
obtained from wikipedia.org. Section 144 and this directory was
created by Fran Ridge and Ned Haskin of The Lunascan Project).
