BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Congreve is a lunar crater located on the Far Side of the Moon
and lies across the lunar equater. It lies to the west-northwest
of the massive walled plain Korolev (Ridge Section 122). To the
southeast is the crater Icarus (part of which is in the SW
corner of the Chart 121), and due north is Zhukovskiy (out of
frame). Zhukovskiy Q is just in the frame at top center and the
largest of the two small craters there. At upper right is
Lebedinskiy P. The rim of Congreve is worn by impact erosion,
particularly along the eastern side where a pair of small
craters lie along the edge. The rim and inner wall are more
prominent to the west and north, while it forms only a shallow
ridge to the southeast. The interior floor is marked by a
cluster of small craters in the northeastern part, and tiny
craterlets scattered across the remainder. (Credit: Some of the
