BRIEF DESCRIPTION
14.6_N_159.3_W
Raimond is the title given to Ridge Section 111. The feature, which is 70 km wide, is an impact crater on the Far Side of the Moon. Less than one crater diameter to the northeast is Bredikhin (59 km wide), and farther to the west (but in Section 110) is McMath. The best graphic to illustrate this is the WAC 69 image from the LRO mission linked above. Raimond is almost completely covered by the ray material from Jackson crater which is out of frame and north of MnMath in Section 99, and a pair of prominent rays cross the northeastern and southwestern portions of the crater. This crater is slightly elongated along the eastwest axis, giving it a slightly oblong appearance. The rim edge is moderately worn, although no significant impacts lie across the edge. The interior is relatively featureless, with only a few small craterlets and the ray material from Jackson crater to mark the surface. Engel'gardt C is a satellite crater of Engel'gardt, is 49 km wide and shown SE of Raimond. (Credit: Some of the information used in the section feature descriptions was obtained from wikipedia. Section 111 and this directory was created by Fran Ridge and Ned Haskin of The Lunascan Project).
